About Vandana

My experiences in being a tutor to Rural kids and women, spear heading Innovation club and being a mentor during national and state level debates for my juniors, have given me a plethora of opportunities to showcase my mentoring skills and develop the same; by engaging and enhancing my skills together along the improvement of my mentees. My experiences and inspiration towards being a mentor has also made me realize the power of good sense of humor and using it towards reaching the information to people along with social messages therefore assuring a holistic learning curve.
I am proud to say that my mentees that I have helped in my journey have gone to secure jobs, university placements in fashion sector, made it to the winners in few national debates in India and have started to churn new innovative ideas for the school, to name a few. As a mentor I see their success as mine just as my role models would and I hope to continue my journey as a mentor in Japan by making this as my stepping stone towards the same!

I have a high level of empathy. I can put myself in the shoes of other people and see where they are and understand what they think and why they think. I believe as a mentor it is important for me to be able to understand my students as each one's learning curve is different and it is my job to help the content reach the students. As someone who has dealt with young girls and women from villages of India who never knew how alphabets were pronounced nor had the opportunity to experience English as means of communication; my teaching methodology always involves pictography, stories, real life examples and serious self analyzing work. My experience in entrepreneurship and spear heading innovation clubs which had enabled me to work with people from several age groups has given me the required understanding to be a mentor and together with my age as an advantage towards being an approachable person.

About the lesson

My method comprises of non- negotiable that emphasizes on commitment and fighting the battle of higher standards through consistency and confidence. I will be teaching through white boarding, creative writing, weekly assignments that dwell on one's own understanding and absorption of their language capabilities. I will also use power points as reading exercises based on which I will be giving lectures.
My classes are suitable for passionate students who are currently in their junior and senior year in High school and also University students.
