About Abigail
I have been a life-long learner. I have studied many different content areas, before realizing what I liked most about all of them was the act of learning. I then admitted that the best thing I could do with my life, in order to be happy, was to become a teacher. I am currently working on finishing classes towards my teaching degree. I love learning and I love helping others fall in love with it, too. For me, the worst case scenario in a tutoring relationship would be the student being bored or dreading tutoring sessions. I want our time together to be something you truly look forward to!

I follow John Dewey's school of educational philosophy that states education is most effective when it is paired with intentional and meaningful experiences. I love teaching English, because I am challenged to find ways to help students experience classical or 'out-dated' literature in a way that is meaningful and relatable to their authentic lives. Lessons with me are not numbing drills. I cultivate meaningful discussion and help students find the articulate words to defend their opinions and effectively state their responses.
