About Sophia
I’m Sophia! I’m currently approaching my fourth year at the University of Delaware and am majoring in medicine on the pre-physician assistant track. Studying medicine at the collegiate level, I am extremely knowledgeable on various genres of mathematics & science! I have taken just about every mathematics course through calculus and use my expertise in the subject to tutor students both at my university and in the area! I love to teach & hope to have the opportunity to help you!

I have experience with various mathematical subjects including but not limited to, statistics, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and trigonometry. I have tutored students ranging from the elementary level through senior year of high school.
I find that students have a higher rate of success when lesson plans are catered to their learning style, and are taught in a fashion in which they can engage with the material. Based on the specific course or concept the student needs assistance with, I will create an outline that identifies the main objectives of our session and includes practice problems prepared to assess the student’s understanding of the subject matter. Once we address the concepts the student needs the most assistance with, I will demonstrate some example problems and then, thoroughly work through the source of confusion with the student. At the end of the session, I will give the student optional resources and a worksheet to practice on their own. We will review the worksheet at the start of our next session.
