Note: If you requested a lesson and I didn’t respond, I apologize. I honestly forgot I made this ad about a year ago, and I thought the text notifications I was receiving were spam. Sorry! I am still available to help you, though in a limited capacity as I do have a job now. As a result, I have reduced my rate by several dollars.
I am a recent college graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre. I discovered a love for sewing and costume design as a part of this education and I have been constantly told by friends and family that I should teach the skill to others, especially because I have a knack for explaining things in a way that is easy to understand. Sewing is a dying art that I would love to keep alive by sharing the skill with others. I have a passion for fibre arts, and I would love to assist you on the journey to discovering yours.

I prefer to work on an individual basis, but I can also teach groups. Teaching sewing requires a hands-on approach that I believe can still be achieved remotely in these days of the pandemic. I adapt my approach to fit each individual's personal style of learning. I typically introduce the groundwork skills, demonstrate, and then walk the student through trying it for themselves; showing them steps again if they need. Once basic skills are established, we can tackle increasingly complex topics, starting with how to read a sewing pattern and how to sew following a pattern. I can also help someone tackle a specific project they are attempting by sewing along with them and assisting with solutions to problems they run into. For example. I recently helped someone draft a pattern for a very specific shape of witch hat, and even drafted an example pattern for her to either use or take inspiration from. Basically, think of me as your personal sewing fairy who is ready to help you with your sewing in whatever way you need. Got a question? Ask me!
