About Jada
Hi! My name is Jada Reese. I am a socially engaged artist currently and hold a B.A. in Art Practice. My work is centered around collective identity, memory, and looking for ways to use art as a tool for world making. I work in a variety of mediums depending on the project, most recently exploring the form of art books through printmaking, film photography, and collage. I have experience in painting, drawing, jewelry making, and clay as well.

My teaching approach focuses on each student's individual goals, and working collaboratively towards them. Whether you are seeking to improve your understanding of a particular medium (i.e., painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, etc.) or talk through a project concept, I am here to support you on your journey. My experience working in collaborative and socially engaged art forms sets me apart as an artist and teacher. I believe that continually engaging with the artistic community is one of the most valuable tools in art making and I hope to be able to engage and support you with your practice! A typical lesson plan could look like a variety of things. It could entail focusing on refining your understanding of color theory, working on figure drawing techniques, or talking about photographic composition. To me, a lesson plan is all about what we can do to best support your artistic goals and practice and it should be made in collaboration with each student.
