About Lydia Rose
Hi! I’m Lydia, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and succeed academically.
I hold a Master’s degree in Sociology, a Bachelor’s in Business and Marketing, and A Levels in English Literature, Film Studies, and Psychology. I also have a strong background in creative writing and academic research, which allows me to support students in improving essays, exam technique, and study skills.
Within my Sociology MA degree, I studied a range of interdisciplinary modules, such as:
Methods in Sociology
Environmental Law
Culture and Society
Feminism
Consumer Culture
Climate Change in Society
Capitalism
Methods and Research modules.
My dissertation stemmed from my interest in both Volunteer Tourism and Careers Education, specifically honing in on how volunteer tourism can be beneficial for students wishing to enter the green sector. I also researched climate hope and climate grief, to see if being involved in climate action can transform negative emotions for young people in the UK.

I take a friendly, supportive approach, tailoring lessons to each student’s goals, whether it’s improving grades, mastering essay writing, or developing critical thinking. I aim to make learning engaging, structured, and confidence-boosting, helping students reach their full potential.
I am interested in your personal goals from learning Sociology, and which subjects you enjoy the most. I will help to inspire and encourage you in the face of big projects, like your dissertation or exams. I have a Coaching Qualification which means that my approach is about belief in the student, and helping you to achieve your goals.
