About Kathan

Hi, I’m Kathan, a Software Engineer with a strong analytical and problem-solving background and a genuine passion for teaching mathematics. I enjoy taking concepts that initially seem difficult or confusing and breaking them down into simple, clear, and easy-to-understand steps.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and personalized. I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to identify where a student is struggling and adapt my explanations and practice accordingly. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking their time to understand a concept properly.

I focus on building real understanding rather than encouraging students to memorize formulas or simply follow a solution. Through clear explanations, examples, guided practice, and progressively challenging problems, I help students develop the confidence and problem-solving skills to tackle questions independently.

I can support middle school and high school students with classwork, homework, difficult topics, test and exam preparation, or simply strengthening their overall mathematics foundation. Whether you are struggling with a particular topic or want to get ahead in your studies, lessons are adapted to your goals and pace.

As a tutor, my priority is to make every lesson productive, engaging, and positive. I want students to leave each session not only knowing how to solve a particular problem, but feeling more confident about their ability to solve the next one.

About the lesson

Struggling with math, feeling overwhelmed before a test, or simply want to become more confident with problem-solving? My goal is to make mathematics clear, approachable, and easier to master.

I believe students learn math best when they understand the reasoning behind a solution rather than simply memorizing formulas. My lessons are personalized to each student's learning style, current level, and goals. Whether a student needs help catching up, improving grades, preparing for an upcoming exam, or getting ahead in class, I adapt each lesson to what they need most.

# My teaching approach

I break challenging concepts into simple, manageable steps and explain them in a way that is easy to follow. We work through examples together, identify common mistakes, and then gradually move toward independent problem-solving.

Rather than immediately giving students the answer, I guide them with questions and hints so they learn how to think through problems themselves. This helps students develop skills they can use long after the tutoring session is over.
