About Dylan
My name is Dylan, and I currently study Banking and Digital Finance at Sussex University. I understand the struggle of falling behind academically, especially in math. I had to work harder than others to improve my skills, and I know how frustrating it can be to lack adequate support and affordable tutoring. However, with the right help, I improved my predicted math grades from a 5 to a 9 in just under a year, ultimately achieving a grade 8 in my GCSEs. My goal is to provide the support I wished I had during my GCSEs to help others achieve the grades they need for college and university.

Teaching Techniques and Methodology
I believe in a personalized approach to tutoring, tailoring each session to the individual needs and learning styles of my students. Here’s how I achieve this:
Assessment and Goal Setting:
Initial Assessment: I begin with an assessment to identify the student’s strengths and areas for improvement.
Goal Setting: We set specific, achievable goals to track progress and keep the student motivated.
Interactive Learning:
Engaging Lessons: I use interactive techniques such as problem-solving sessions, real-world applications, and hands-on activities to make learning engaging.
Active Participation: Encouraging students to ask questions, solve problems on their own, and explain concepts back to me to reinforce understanding.
Conceptual Understanding:
Foundation Building: Focus on building a strong foundation in fundamental concepts before moving on to more complex topics.
Real-World Applications: Relating mathematical concepts to real-world situations to enhance understanding and relevance.
Visual and Practical Aids:
Visuals and Diagrams: Using visual aids, diagrams, and physical models to explain abstract concepts.
Technology Integration: Utilizing educational software and online resources for interactive learning experiences.
Regular Feedback and Adaptation:
Continuous Feedback: Providing regular feedback to students and parents about progress and areas needing attention.
Adaptive Teaching: Adjusting teaching methods based on ongoing assessments and student feedback to ensure effective learning.
Typical Length of a Lesson
Lesson Duration: A typical lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student's age, level, and concentration span. This duration is optimal for maintaining focus and ensuring comprehensive coverage of topics without overwhelming the student.
Qualifications and Experience
Camtech Degree in Engineering: Provides a strong analytical and problem-solving foundation.
AS in Physics: Enhances my ability to explain complex scientific concepts.
A Levels in Biology and Chemistry: Adds depth to my multidisciplinary approach.
Currently Pursuing a Bachelor's in Banking and Digital Finance: Keeps my knowledge current and broadens my expertise.
I have years of experience tutoring students at various levels, from middle school to high school, helping them improve their grades and build confidence in their mathematical abilities.
Who Are My Lessons For?
Levels: Middle school to high school students.
Age: Typically students aged 11 to 18.
Needs: Suitable for students needing help with algebra, geometry, calculus, and other math subjects, as well as those looking for enrichment beyond the standard curriculum.
By focusing on these areas, I ensure that my tutoring sessions are effective, enjoyable, and tailored to each student's unique needs.
