About Simon

I am a specialist GCSE and IGCSE Mathematics Tutor covering the major syllabi:
- Pearson Edexcel GCSE Mathematics (1MA1), Higher
- AQA GCSE Mathematics (8300), Higher
- Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580), Extended
- Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A (4MA1), Higher

While I study mathematics and theoretical physics at a university, I chose to specialise my tutoring purely on GCSE/IGCSE Mathematics instead of having to split my focus across multiple areas.
Thanks to this specialisation, I have been able to carry out extensive analysis and research in order to offer lessons structured around the specifications of both syllabi and to provide focused exam preparation.

About the lesson

My lessons are visual and utilise computer software, allowing my students to actually see how the mathematics unfold.
I also work with my students outside of our lessons through assignments, corrections, and further practice, all hosted on my private website, which serves as a personal hub for our materials.
Furthermore, I provide a supportive learning environment, which I believe to be essential for making studying less stressful and allowing students to make consistent progress.
I offer a free first lesson where I introduce new students to the way I tutor.

I loved that there was communication and help even outside of the lessons, so I never had to feel on my own for more than a couple of days.
Also the lessons are just exceptional. Very clean and structured and visually helpful. And the fact that I didn't have to take notes since Simon sends all the material helped me focus during the lessons themselves.

I appreciate Simon's patience, it happened a lot of times that I felt like I was never going to grasp a topic, but he just didn't give up and figures out how to make it click. It was indeed also the fact that he is very friendly and makes it feel okay to make mistakes and not understand something right away.
