About Brandon
I'm a nuclear engineer (B.S., NC State University) and professional tutor with 16 years of experience helping high school and college students succeed in math and physics. I'm a Duke scholar, hold a Master-level tutor certification from the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA), and currently work as a professional tutor at Sandhills Community College.
Before tutoring full-time, I worked as a pharmaceutical chemist and an electrical engineer, so I bring real-world context into every lesson — students see how the math and physics they're learning actually get used.
I'm based in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and offer both online and in-person sessions. I tutor math and physics for high school and college students, plus SAT/ACT and AP exam preparation. My goal is simple: help you truly understand the material and build the confidence to tackle anything.

My lessons focus on real understanding, not just memorizing formulas. We start by finding the gaps in your foundation, then work step by step: I explain the concept clearly, we solve problems together, and then you work through them on your own so the skill sticks.
As a nuclear engineer and tutor of 16 years, I connect math to real-world applications, which helps ideas click and stay with you. Lessons can cover homework help, test and exam prep, or building ahead for AP courses and the SAT/ACT math section.
