I was twice state topper in various math olympiads and completed my graduation couple years back. We all know how grad schools will be, studying for exams is like starting them just a day or two before the exams. there is one friend in every group who explains the topics better than the lectures to his friends and they pass with flying colors because that one guy knows in what way should he explain to their peers. I USED TO BE THAT GUY IN OUR GROUP
