About Peter
Welcome, learners! My name is Peter Verbeke, and I am a distinguished Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Wilkes University, and holder of Associates degrees in Mathematics and Physics from Northampton College. With this strong academic foundation, I'm here to bridge the gap between mathematical theory and practical understanding.
My academic journey culminated in the design of a contactless heart rate monitor using electromagnetic waves, a project that not only put my knowledge to test but also allowed me to create a real-world solution. Today, as an Electrical Engineer serving the United States Military, I continue to use my mathematical expertise daily, solving complex problems and contributing to national defense.
With every tutoring session, I bring this wealth of experience and passion for math to my students. My aim is not just to tutor, but to mentor - to instill confidence, inspire curiosity, and cultivate an appreciation for the beauty of math.
As your tutor, I am committed to providing a professional, supportive, and positive learning environment. I meticulously plan each session, ensuring it caters to your specific needs and aligns with your learning style. I am here to guide you, help you overcome challenges,

As a math tutor, my approach is driven by four main pillars: personalization, real-world application, consistent support, and positivity.
Teaching Method and Techniques: I adopt an individualized approach to teaching, understanding that each student has unique needs and learns at their own pace. I firmly believe in the "learning by doing" philosophy, fostering an environment that encourages critical thinking and independent problem-solving.
A Typical Lesson Plan: Sessions begin with a brief review of the previous lesson to reinforce learning. I then introduce new concepts, ensuring to demonstrate their real-world applications. We proceed to tackle example problems together, after which I assign a few for the student to solve independently. The session concludes with a recap and setting expectations for the next class. I'm a firm believer in showing every step to solve a problem and addressing the why behind the process.
What Sets Me Apart: My background in Electrical Engineering equips me with the unique ability to connect math concepts with tangible applications, demystifying abstract ideas. My approach is not just to teach, but to inspire curiosity, building confidence along the way.
Who the Lessons are for: I cater to a broad range of students - from those grappling with basic high school algebra, geometry, or trigonometry to college students seeking to comprehend the complexities of calculus or discrete mathematics. No matter your level or specific needs, my goal is to make mathematics accessible, enjoyable, and ultimately empowering.
