My goal is to help students build confidence while improving their understanding of math. I use a direct instruction approach, breaking down concepts into simple, easy-to-follow steps before guiding students through practice problems. I encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking so I can identify any misunderstandings and provide clear explanations.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing any homework or topics the student finds challenging. I then teach the concept using examples, work through problems together, and gradually allow the student to solve problems independently while I provide guidance and feedback. At the end of each session, we review the key ideas and discuss what to practice before our next meeting.
What sets me apart is my patience, organization, and ability to explain math in a way that's easy to understand. As a current high school student, I remember what it's like to learn these concepts for the first time, so I focus on making lessons engaging, encouraging, and free of unnecessary pressure. I aim to help students not only complete their homework but also develop problem-solving skills they can use in class and on tests.
My lessons are designed for students in grades 3 through 8 who need help with homework, preparing for quizzes and tests, strengthening foundational math skills, or building confidence in the classroom. I offer online one-on-one tutoring using direct instruction, providing personalized lessons tailored to each student's learning pace and academic goals.
