About Jacques
Hey! My names Jacques, I’m a 20 year old student from Oxford. The first time I touched a guitar was at the age of twelve but I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. I’d like to share that passion with all beginners and teach them in a methodical way, hoping to avoid many of the problems I encountered throughout my time playing guitar. I’ve always enjoyed teaching other people what I’ve learnt and would love to encourage anyone interested in playing to master this beautiful instrument.

Few beginners are taught to properly learn the guitar, only how to play it, leading to great difficulties down the road (I was one of them). I’ll teach essential theoretical knowledge from the get go on top of whatever music the student wants to learn. This means I’ll be dedicating time in each lesson to various exercises and teaching how to read standard notation. The rest of the time, I’ll help the student learn a song/piece of their choice.
I can do 30 minute to 1 hour lessons, and am willing to teach beginners of any levels.
Ever since I started playing guitar I’ve been teaching friends and family. I’ve also done a few lessons for the children of neighbours, but this is my first time reaching out on a platform like this. It means I’m more eager to make a name for myself and am also more flexible with pay.
