My first step in tutoring is always to break it down and help my students to pinpoint what part doesn’t make sense to them so we know where to start - then we’ll build up step by step from there. I’ll explain concepts in different ways till we find one that clicks. I’ll teach them what to look for in exam questions, how to tackle all the different types, and spotting the patterns in past papers. I’ll also teach them how to approach new problems going forward so they can apply their routine and pick up new concepts as they advance.
