About Swashtika

Swashtika, a 23-year-old student specializing in Western contemporary music, is passionate about sharing her knowledge of music theory and vocal technique. Originally from a small town, her fascination with the intricacies of melody, harmony, and expression has inspired her to pursue teaching. In her classes, Swashtika focuses on creating an inclusive and encouraging learning environment, making both music theory and vocal training accessible to individuals with diverse musical backgrounds. Her objective is to impart a practical understanding of the language of music while helping students develop their unique voices and a deeper appreciation for its nuances.

About the lesson

-The usual structure of the class will begin with a brief review of the previous lesson, followed by the introduction of new music theory and/or vocal concepts through a combination of verbal explanation, visual aids, and practical examples.

-For vocal lessons, warm-up exercises will be conducted at the start, followed by training in vocal techniques, breathing, pitch control, and repertoire practice.

-Summarize the key takeaways from each class and assign relevant homework or practice exercises to reinforce learning in both theory and vocals.

-Tailor lessons to accommodate different learning styles, whether auditory, visual, or kinesthetic. Relate theoretical concepts and vocal techniques to real-world musical contexts to foster deeper understanding and appreciation.

-Implement a balanced assessment strategy, including regular quizzes, vocal evaluations, and assignments. Whenever possible, integrate theory with practical application—both on musical instruments and through vocal performance.

-These classes are designed for school and college-level students, as well as adults with an interest in music theory and/or Western vocals.
