About Kathryn
I have been playing piano for 10 years. I’ve placed in Rockford’s Starr Miller Mendelson competition, played at nursing homes, accompanied my school’s concert, and played at churches all across Rockford. I love teaching others and have taught some me my family members and several students from my school!

My teaching method is to start form the
bottom and work the way up. Learning the very basics and being comfortable on the keyboard and around tutors/students is really important to me. For me, teaching is not just about the content, but also building relationships. In the past, I’ve struggled with not always feeling super comfortable around my teachers, which makes it really hard to learn. I love teaching students of all ages and my teaching methods also depend on the age and level of each student.
