About Ruth

I love to teach and I would love to teach your child, virtually. I am a certified Florida K-12 teacher with a Master's degree who has taught at Catholic Schools, Orthodox, Waldorf, and Hebrew Language Schools in South Florida. I am a STEP_UP_FOR_STUDENTS provider of the Gardiner Grant among other STEP-UP-FOR-STUDENTS GRANTS. I am familiar with the International Baccalaureate Teaching Art Method. I am a successful and experienced VIRTUAL and classroom teacher creating a fun art lesson for my students. I play upbeat music, I lead by example, and use carefully selected tutorials guiding them to success. I give my full attention to my students . I encouraging them to feel good about and take pride in their accomplishments.
My students are all individuals, all different with different learning styles. I also provide portfolio review and preparation for students seeking admission to art schools and colleges, and have Apple-Teacher Certification in Digital Art.
I am a Provider for students who qualify for the Step-Up-for-Students Gardiner Scholarships. I have a standard approved form if a child is eligible through the Step-Up-For Students Program which parents may submit for reimbursement.
I am certified to teach children, PreK- 12, adults, and seniors. I have senior certification and have attended training to teach while meeting the challenges of teaching some aging adults.
My background in education includes graduate coursework in art therapy and teaching art to students with learning challenges.

About the lesson

Always make students feel at ease. It's about the journey. I want my students to have a love of art and the creative process. I also like to know about interests and hobbies my students have and what type of 2D and 3D art they have done in the past, and what their goals are in art. My focus is on understanding the student, as we are all different so that I can give the best possible service and the best possible art experience. I am also an effective teacher who integrates core subjects into the art lesson, fun while awakening curiosity about science, math, geometry, history, and music, all while creating and using imagination, learning skills and techniques, taking care of materials and tools. "We are all learning, all of us, all the time."

I do not offer a free first hour.
I am available to teach on a daily/weekly basis.
I offer a discount for groups of 2+ and encourage siblings of the same approx age to enjoy the classes together.
