About Elizabeth
I am a teacher, filmmaker, storyteller, and passionate animal welfare advocate — and everything I do comes from the heart. With over 20 years of experience in education and film, I hold an MFA from the American Film Institute and am certified in TEFL and TESOL. I've taught English and literacy to children and adults of all backgrounds, always bringing creativity, patience, and genuine care into every lesson. Outside the classroom, I founded JC Catwatch, a Jersey City nonprofit dedicated to the humane treatment of community cats through Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return programs, rescue, and community education. I believe every living being deserves compassion and a voice — and that belief drives everything I do, from how I teach to how I show up in my community.
