About Yap

I am a dedicated, patient, and approachable tutor with several years of experience as a professional web developer and technical consultant. My industry background allows me to teach ICT in a practical and engaging way, ensuring students understand not only the concepts, but also how they are used in the real world. I also teach mathematics to primary school students, which has strengthened my ability to simplify complex ideas and communicate them clearly. No matter the subject, I focus on making learning enjoyable, accessible, and confidence-building. I believe students learn best when lessons are engaging rather than dull. I love fun teaching—using simple explanations, relatable examples, and interactive activities to help students grasp new concepts quickly and comfortably. I am patient, encouraging, and always attentive to the student’s pace. If a student needs foundation work, I make sure they master the basics before moving forward. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, motivated, and excited to learn. Professionalism, clarity, and genuine care guide every lesson I deliver.

About the lesson

I teach based on each student’s specific needs. If a student lacks the foundational knowledge required for a topic, I will first establish that foundation before moving into more advanced concepts. My approach is flexible, student-centered, and focused on building solid understanding step by step, ensuring the student gains confidence and clarity throughout the learning process.

Each lesson is 120 minutes, providing enough time for explanation, guided practice, and reinforcement without rushing through key concepts.

I have several years of hands-on experience as a web developer and technical consultant, working across multiple areas of development. In addition to my technical background, I also teach mathematics to primary school students, giving me experience in simplifying concepts, managing younger learners, and adapting my teaching style to different ages and skill levels.

My ICT lessons are designed for students below 17 years old who want to build practical digital skills or deepen their understanding of technology.
My mathematics lessons are specifically for primary school students who need clear explanations and supportive guidance.
