About Rose

I’ve always loved learning English, to the point that this passion of mine allowed me to graduate from Kent State University in OH. I started learning it when I was 14, and every day I learn something new. Languages in general are a passion of mine. In 2024, I studied Quechua for a year and graduated from the Academia Mayor de la Lengua Quechua in Cusco, Peru, and I have a pre-intermediate Italian level. I studied music with a specialization in opera, which also contributes to my love for languages, since understanding the International Phonetic Alphabet is essential to deliver good pronunciation when singing and dialoguing.

About the lesson

I’m passionate about helping my students break the barrier between grammatically correct, academic English and a more natural, native-sounding English, starting from the very first class. All the information I share is rooted in cultural context, not just isolated grammar rules from a textbook. This allows my students to learn English in a way far beyond grammar. My classes are strongly influenced by my work as an Academic Coach at Kent State University, in which I helped students develop and strengthen key learning skills such as effective time and project management, note-taking, reading comprehension, and more, my four years living in the United States, my outstanding academic performance at Kent State University (I graduated with Magna Cum Laude Latin Honors with a 3.75 GPA), and of course on my TESOL certification from International TESOL and TEFL Training (ITTT). I place a strong emphasis on pronunciation, so if you want to learn and/or improve your English to the point where you get asked things like “Is (insert your home country here) nice? Have you ever been there?” — come study with me!
