Fun Facts about me:

I'm a native English speaker from Jamaica (a small island in the Caribbean)… And yes Jamaicans speak English! haha

Even though Jamaica has great coffee, I prefer tea.

I love reading, swimming, bamboo rafting and of course watching movies and series on Netflix, HBO or Disney+ :D

About the lesson

I'm a certified online English teacher with over 7 years of experience. Early in my career, I found that many learners worked hard to improve their grammar and vocabulary and even scored high in exams like IELTS or TOEFL. However, they still struggled to:

Understand native speakers when they traveled abroad or watched movies.

Confidently express themselves fluently and authentically in conversations.

As a teacher, it was heartbreaking to see their frustration. I want my students to achieve ALL their language goals AND have fun while doing it.

This led me to create my own framework and materials based on movies and series on Netflix. Within 2-3 months my students' listening skills improved. Some were even able to decipher even the most difficult and garbled movie dialogue. They also were more relaxed, confident and used natural expressions fluently in conversations.

So, what's it like to work with me?

First, I like to laugh, smile, be quirky and have fun. So, if you prefer the typical no-nonsense, professional teacher, I am not for you.

Second, due to copyright laws, you will need to have your own Netflix subscription to watch the shows.

Our first lesson would be an overview of my framework. It's really important to understand how it works and why I've created it this way.

For the second and other subsequent lessons, I will send you the materials to work on in your own time before the live 1:1 call on Google Meet or Skype.

Please give yourself enough time to go through the material before the lesson.
