About Donta

As a recent graduate, I can relate with the idea of how math can seem to be at times perplexing and confusing, but with my knowledge and deep understanding of numbers and formulas; I will not only help you pass, but I will help you gain the tools you will need to grasp the concepts of the course. Over the years I've had wonderful educators that took the initiative to reach out when I needed a little extra support, and I'd like to show my gratitude by paying it forward. That's why I wanted to become a tutor so I can reach students that may need that support but are a little too shy or just embarrassed to ask. If I become your tutor, I will do my best to guide, encourage and motivate you every step of the way.

I am offering online tutoring for middle school students, grades 6th- 8th. Each session will begin with the introduction, the lesson objectives, guided practice of the material (discussion of concepts, visual aids and modeling using example problems and actual problems related to the lessons), next will be a comprehension check of materials and content covered during the session, and finally the independent practice (with teacher guidance of missed steps, errors or mistakes). No need to worry if anything remains misunderstood, questions are encouraged at any and all times during the lesson. As we go through to the end, we will conclude if time permits with an ending game that summarized the lesson. I look forward to being a part of this journey with you and I hope by the end of our session that you've had fun learning math as much as I've enjoyed te aching it.
