About Angie
Hello! I’m currently a third-year Software Engineering student at The University of Auckland. I studied at Baradene College and finished my high school schooling following the Cambridge curriculum at an international school abroad. Despite my A’s in university and high school, I have always struggled with understanding concepts taught by my high school teachers because their teaching style was not altered to fit me. Therefore, I was put through more than 10 years of all sorts of tutoring which led me to succeed and reach where I am today. It is only natural that I do the same for the next generation. Being a full-time university student and living far away from my parents has always been a financial burden. Thus, working part-time isn’t an option but a necessity. I love tutoring because of the genuine passion I have for Maths; hence, it is only fair I chose tutoring over working in the hospitality industry. My hobbies include reading, writing (at an amateur level), tennis, swimming, and fashion.

I believe that every student can reach their full potential with a nudge in the right direction. As a tutor, it is my duty to be there to guide the students to achieve grades they aspire to have and to fill in the gaps that regular schooling can’t fill. Having months' worth of previous experience in teaching NCEA mathematics to students at an established tutoring centre has helped me solidify my understanding of the curriculum. I have also taken IGCSEs, AS level, and SATs while private tutoring kids at Cambridge AS level as well. I consider myself a very understanding, patient, and fun-loving person. I will always assess the students and adapt the lessons to fit them so that they would have a clear grasp of concepts and not be bored at the same time. Lessons can be an hour long but can be extended if necessary (i.e. needs more help in a shorter time, upcoming exams). I hope you can consider me to be that right nudge for your child as I will always be happy to provide that assistance :)
