About Kyanne
Hello! Im going into my third year at the University of Alberta with a major focus in physics, and a minor focus in mathematics.
As I started my first year at the UofA, I quickly came to realize that I was very under-prepared and had very under-developed math skills. Throughout highschool, I was taught to memorize algorithms and solution methods, and I never actually understood the why behind what I was doing. I had a very rough time catching up to where my peers were, but in my catching up, the mathematical and physical puzzles started coming together. I would've benefitted immensely from having someone who could explain all of the "whys" to me, to be the storyteller of math, and I have had to put my own story together. I would love to be your storyteller, to share my love of math and physics and make them less scary by breaking down topics into manageable and simplified ideas, to help you build your understanding. I often explain concepts by breaking them down to their basics, and building you up from there. In doing that, we can identify lapses in understanding, and create a strong foundation to build upon.

Hello! I am a third-year student at the University of Alberta majoring in Physics with a minor in Mathematics.
When I began my schooling at the UofA, I quickly realized that my highschool experience had taught me to memorize algorithms rather than truly understand concepts. I had to work incredibly hard to bridge that gap, but in doing so, I discovered that Math and Physics were so much more than just numbers and operations; they were stories and lessons we use to interpret and solve puzzles. I realized that I didn't need more formulas- I needed someone to tell me the "story" behind the math.
I would love to be your storyteller. My goal is to make these subjects approachable and enjoyable by breaking complex topics down to their absolute basics and building upward from there. By focusing on the "why" behind the methods, we can identify any lapses in your understanding and create a solid foundation. Together, we will move past memorization and build your confidence so you can tackle any problem thrown your way, and perhaps even learn to love the subject.
While my primary focus is in Physics and Math, I am also proficient in highschool level sciences, including Chemistry and Biology, and would be happy to assist in those areas as well.
