About Lena
Hello there! I'm so glad you're reading this. I think it is truly amazing that you are interested in learning more about music, and expanding your abilities and horizons. Round of applause for you, for starting or continuing on this journey! Music has shaped my life for as long as I can remember, and to be able to share that special experience with others makes me oh so happy. Everyone deserves to have music as a part of their life, and to be able to create your own is truly magical. Let's talk a bit more about my current qualifications, which are continuously growing.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Jacobs School of Music (currently the #1 program in the United States). I have the following experience:
-11 years of opera singing
-12 years of musical theater
-3 years of jazz singing
I also play a number of instruments, and have taught lessons to all ages in both piano and guitar. My experience with these instruments is as follows:
-20 years of piano playing
-15 years of guitar playing

My teaching method is simple - every person and every student is different.
What might work wonderfully as a learning tactic for one student, could be the absolute last resort for another. So, I work on a student-by-student basis, designing lesson plans that cater to the strengths and weaknesses of individuals. I have worked with students as young as four, up through adults.
Most importantly, I want these lessons to be fun. They should not bring stress or anxiety to your life - they should make you feel better and happier, for all the amazing new things you are learning. I believe that practice outside of lesson time is important, but should not be done to the point of frustration. Music is to be enjoyed, to inspire, to connect with others in a fun way - so let's have some fun and learn something new!

Details
My rates vary based on the number of students - for example, if you have two children you would like me to teach for an hour weekly, it would be $50/hour for both of them, as opposed to $35/hour for each.
I'm fairly lenient about cancellations, please give 24 hour notice. 12 hour notice you pay half price, and you pay full price for a no-show. I'm very easy to reach!
