About Kate

I am a qualified teacher with an understanding of the needs of the learner. I particularly enjoy teaching English and preparing young people for the 11+ and 13+ exams, both of which are part of my job as a primary school teacher in the UK.
My pedagogical approach is adapted to the person with whom I am working but I firmly believe in developing a relationship with the child or adult, and ensuring that learning is a dialogic process where both the tutor and tutee are responsible for creating a learning atmosphere.

About the lesson

As a teacher, I understand the importance of tailoring my teaching methods to the person with whom I am working. My lessons are typically interactive and involve a dialogic approach to learning. I believe that the lesson length generally depends on the needs of the tutee but would recommend lessons of no less than half an hour.
I am a qualified teacher with a BA (hons) in Primary Education and Qualified Teacher Status. I have practised as a teacher for eight years in UK primary schools. I enjoy working with children and adults.
