About Sarah

I am a lifelong learner and sharer of knowledge! I started my nursing journey in Paediatrics, moving to Neurology, Second Stage Recovery and Transit Nursing. I also have experience in Fertility Nursing and Women's Health. I currently work in Primary Care with people throughout their lifespan. I have nursed in both New Zealand and the United States, whilst also studying so I know the challenges of juggling these demands. In my previous roles I have mentored first-year nursing students as well as provided study support for State and Post Graduate assessments. Let me help you become the best nurse you can be!

About the lesson

Nursing is a challenging but supremely rewarding calling and I want to support you to be your best self. With over 15 years practical nursing experience, as well as two Bachelor's degrees; Bachelor of Arts (English and Classics) Bachelor of Nursing and my Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science I have a wide range of practical and academic experience. Lessons will be guided by you and what you most want to learn whether it be head to toe assessments, pathophysiology topics, management of chronic conditions, preparation for State or support for a new concept from lectures or placement. Our first lesson will be with the goal of seeing if we click, finding out about your nursing passions and what learning style best suits you.

Perfect! Sarah has helped me gain confidence in my nursing and enabled me to study hard for the state. Her approach to teaching is about listening and understanding where the gaps in my knowledge were and helping me target those areas so that they become stronger. Sarah has also given me confidence when backing myself in practice. I would second guess myself in my learning, but Sarah always encouraged me to stick with my gut and go with that first instinct. Sarah also provides a safe learning place, if needed, to discuss issues related to learning and past learning from lecturers and tutors. I could not recommend Sarah more to others because of her ability to listen and understand others' experiences and strengths/weaknesses.

Sarah was very versatile in her tutoring style and allowed me to direct each of our sessions to be the most beneficial for my learning. Whether it was teaching me a topic with notes and activities that she has pre prepared, helping me to construct an essay or OSCE prep, Sarah was willing to cater to all of my learning needs. She provided a safe space I could go to for help which I didn’t always feel I could at University. Because of this, not only did my grades improve drastically but so did my learning, which is so applicable to my work as registered nurse now. I could not recommend Sarah more !
