About Patricia
I am relatively new to Seattle but have over thirteen years of one-on-one tutoring experience of elementary and middle school-age children, both within and outside school curriculum. When my son was in elementary school, I trained in the Montessori Method to continue his learning at home. He is now a PhD graduate of Stanford University and an accomplished writer. I am dedicated to fostering a love of learning in children ages 7-11, offering personalized tutoring in core subjects and beyond. I have tutored five children across three families, including the daughter of a Stanford professor for over two years. All of my students have improved markedly. References available upon request, including a local Sahalee parent whose son and daughter I tutored during the pandemic. I can tutor both in-person and virtually depending on the arrangement. I am semi-retired and ideally am looking for 1-4 hours of tutoring per week, per child. I look forward to helping your child excel in school!

Patricia Marie House was a tutor for our two children, elementary and middle school in Sammamish, from 2020 through 2022. She was able to teach them in the way that worked best for each of them and it was wonderful to see their improvement. Our son was in the gifted program at his school, and our daughter qualified for the gifted program with the tutoring she received from Marie. They both enjoyed working with her.
She was timely in communicating with me to discuss curriculum, as well as flexible to accomodate our children's extracurricular activities. Marie is an absolutely great tutor and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor for their children.View more recommendations
