UBC graduate tutors Math and Physics from Grade 1 to University in Toronto

Chris has been fantastic with regards to providing two of my son’s extra help in their classes. Last year he helped my one son with Grade 12 Pre-Cal and Chemistry and my other son with Grade 11 AP Calculus and AP Physics. Chris immediately identified their strengths and weakness and focussed on what he thought they would benefit from. Both my son’s said that he made it easier for them to understand their subjects and study. Chris’ flexibility was such a relief. He assisted them on a week to week basis in either subject that they were requiring assistance in at the time. Both my boys enjoyed their time with Chris and had nothing but good things to say about him and his teaching style. We will definitely be contacting Chris to assist my son who is now in Grade 12, with his AP sciences if needed. I 100% recommend Chris to everyone who is looking for extra assistance in the Sciences and math.

I supervised Chris during his time working for the True North Youth Foundation. Over the course of the school year I watched him gain the trust and respect of the students he worked with. Chris is extremely intelligent and is capable of tutoring in many subject areas. Most importantly, he is able to communicate complex ideas in a relatable manner.

Chris is an amazing physics tutor. I originally started tutoring with him because I had been failing all of my tests. With his help I was able to go from a 30% to a 95% on a retest and was able to do well on all the remaining tests of the year and the final exam. He adjusted his teaching to suit my learning style and helped me to understand the way my classroom teacher was teaching so I could better follow lessons. When I struggled with something he was receptive to communication between tutor sessions and adjusted his schedule to fit more time in for me especially as I approached exam time. Chris was able to make tutoring sessions fun and something I looked forward to and instead of hating physics I finished the class with a sense of accomplishment.

Chris tutored me in math and some physics. He is very knowledgeable in both subjects and was very helpful in working with me on specific math topics which were problematic for me causing me to make errors in my math tests and assignments. Chris and I worked through various problems which focused on those areas where he would point out my errors and then provide explanations as to what was missing in my solutions and why. He is very patient and excellent in providing explanations/theory behind math topics. Chris is a great teacher in both Math and Physics!

Chris is an amazing Physics tutor and is very knowledgable in the subject area! Initially I got a tutor because I hadn't taken physics for 3 years and had never really had much confidence in the subject especially taking university physics. He encouraged me every step of the way which allowed me to gain confidence in doing physics problems. We started with very simple examples and slowly worked our way up to more complex situations. If I was ever stuck, he wouldn't do the question for me but rather provide tips and tricks in approaching the problem which is absolutely crucial in physics. He was also able to identify where I was having trouble conceptually and was able to help me strengthen my understanding. He was always very welcoming and accommodating to my schedule. I finished Intro to Physics with an A+ which I never thought I'd be able to achieve. I recommend Chris to everyone I know for physics help because he is truly the guy to go to! Thanks Chris!
