About Rob
I’ve worked for two years as a software engineer, and I have my bachelor's in computer science from UMass (often called the Harvard of Amherst Massachusetts, if you f Amherst college).
I’ve played guitar as a hobby since I was 12, and I was fortunate to have an amazing teacher who made me love the instrument. Today, music is an important part of my life. I write and record my own music, and I record outdoor sets for local artists as a passion project.

I’ve been teaching math and guitar for two years. Everyone has their own approach to learning both. I try to understand your approach, and find the best path to helping you learn. Some guitarists want to start out by learning songs, some want to start by learning basic music theory, some want to start using drills heavily. Some students rely on their memories for math, some rely on logic, some rely on a bit of both. I don’t think there is a wrong way to go about it, if it works for you and your goals. I understand math, CS, and music on a deep level, and I want to create a low stakes atmosphere for learning any of those.
