About Jacob

Hello! My name is Jacob Ismael, and I am a first-year computer engineering major at UC Santa Barbara. I have learned how to tutor students effectively through my experience of being a tutor for several years and being a student in many of the topics on which I offer tutelage. I have tutored many students between the ages of 11-17 and have adapted strategies to build a connection fundamental for a tutor to teach a student. I believe that to master a skill, we must practice it thoroughly. As a tutor, I provide a space for students to practice their skills and not fear failure. I offer help with clarifying topics, homework, as well as test and quiz practice. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is always to explain the concepts in as much detail as possible, and then help the student perfect it by guiding them. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I usually have both the perspective of the teacher and the student.
