About Taylor

I’ve worked with all kinds of new readers, struggling readers, and even English language learners. I am a very patient, energetic, and compassionate teacher that is excited to build confidence in your reader! Every child has the ability to learn to read! I’m excited to partner with you using a science backed reading progression that was created to work for all students! Multi-sensory phonics is a tactile approach that includes manipulatives, gestures, speaking, and auditory cues that increases students' acquisition of phonics skills.

About the lesson

I have been trained in the science of reading so my methods have been proven to be effective for all student groups.

My expertise is specifically for grades K-2 and readers at any experience level.

A typical lesson will begin with sound drills and vowel drills that will eventually just become maintenance work.

Next, we will introduce a new phonics skill and practice reading and writing with our new skill.

When we have enough skills mastered, we will move into reading books that use skills that have been mastered to build confidence in reading.

This moves at a pace that is student led and in a progression of skills that is appropriate and aligned with the science of reading progression.
