About Rosie

I am an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a pre-med concentration. I am a Junior at an R1 university, and I have excelled in undergraduate-level courses such as Biological Foundations, General Psychology, Psychology of Everyday Life, Quantitative Methods in Psychology 1, Analytic Geometry and Calculus 1, and Cultural Anthropology.

I have tutored and mentored students for five years across various age ranges, but I have found a preference in subject (science and social studies) and age range (Grades 9-12).

About the lesson

I tutor high school students from grades 9-12. I teach courses (both General and Advanced) such as General Psychology, Biology, and Statistics.

I work with every student in a holistic manner. Every student's needs are different, and everyone has different strengths that can be used to their advantage in their coursework. I am not only committed to helping high school students excel in their current studies, but also helping them build lasting habits and methods that will be useful in their undergraduate studies.

My first meeting with a student is a consultation meeting where we will discuss their current study habits, struggles, strengths, learning styles, possible courses of action, and any questions or concerns that the student may have prior to working on the material. After the consultation a plan of study will be made in collaboration with the student that is open to adjustment, if needed.

This first lesson offered with Rosie will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

The one free session covers an in-depth consultation with the student that does not involve tutoring. For in-person sessions, I charge $21/hour. For online sessions, I charge $20/hour. For in-person sessions, there is a base travel fee of $7 that covers 10 miles of travel. If the travel distance exceeds 10 miles, an additional fee of $1 will be added for every two miles. The maximum distance that I will travel is 20 miles which caps the travel fee at $12.
