About Katrina

I really love English Literature, and while I know that is not the case for everyone, I would really like to help students find at least something about it they can enjoy and learn from. For the last year, I have taught Year 9 students on a weekly basis among other shorter tutoring jobs. I really loved getting to know the students and seeing them progress and their confidence in themselves and their future improve. I would really like to continue experiencing this, especially having had so many teachers inspire to me to do English at degree level.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Katrina, a 2nd year student at the University of Sheffield studying English Lit.
I have experience tutoring students from 11-18 both online and in person, and I have experience working with primary school children in Kids Clubs so I would be willing to help out with younger students too.
I am happy to help out with any one-off sessions as well as book in a weekly slot that suits you.
Every session will be tailored to what you would like to improve on- from essay and exam technique, to help with specific texts, to improving your confidence with the subject. I am also more than happy to accommodate individual learning styles: everyone learns differently, so if more of a back and forth discussion suits you more than a more teacher-led visual lesson, I am happy to do so. There is also absolutely no pressure to speak in lessons for quieter students as long as you feel you can engage with lessons in whatever way you are most comfortable.
