About Ceri

Hi there, my name is Ceri, and I am a doctoral researcher specialising in supporting students with academic writing, dissertations, qualitative research, publications and higher-education study skills. I am an alumnus of Cranfield University, the University of Southampton, the University of Derby, and the University of Chester, and I hold an MBA, MSc, MRes, and AFHEA recognition for university-level teaching.

I provide expert guidance in areas such as:

Dissertation and thesis planning
Literature reviews and critical analysis
Qualitative research (thematic analysis, netnography, interviews)
Academic writing, clarity, structure, and argument development
Editing, proof-reading, and academic style improvement
Postgraduate study support and professional report writing

With extensive experience tutoring undergraduate and postgraduate students across a wide range of disciplines, I offer clear, structured, student-centred support that builds confidence and strengthens academic performance. My teaching style is calm, encouraging, and highly tailored to each learner’s goals, deadlines, and learning style.

About the lesson

I follow a set of guiding principles in my teaching, but I don’t use a rigid, one-size-fits-all methodology. Every student’s needs vary depending on their topic, level of confidence, academic background, and deadlines. Because of this, I take a flexible, personalised approach and work with each student to establish clear goals during our initial meeting or call.

Before each session, I ask students to share their material at least two days in advance. This allows me to review their work carefully, identify key areas that need attention, and prepare focused guidance. I create clear notes, structured feedback, and practical examples that students can reuse as they continue writing or analysing data.

In sessions, we work through challenges together — whether that involves refining arguments, improving structure, strengthening methodology, or deepening critical analysis. For research-focused students, I also provide tailored guidance on qualitative methods such as thematic analysis, interviews, and netnography.

Over the years, I have developed a wide range of resources, templates, and examples that help students understand academic expectations and improve their work with confidence.
