About Patrick

Patrick is an award-winning lecturer; whose knowledge and experience is in high demand in Western Australia. His career includes lecturing at the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Central Queensland University and North Metropolitan TAFE and teaching and coordinating University and VET programs at Wooroloo and Acacia Prisons.

He has a unique ability to analyse and interpret complex data and statistical information, seeing patterns and trends. He is then able to present the findings in logical easy to understand ways. This talent led Patrick to move into the optimistic world of education. He now teaches Mathematics, Leadership, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics and Finance with a business focus. He believes that education and understanding makes the world a better place and is a strong advocate of equity and rehabilitation through education, and his past students are his biggest fans. Patrick has also owned and operated his own business and acted as a corporate consultant with a track record for developing analytical models, business plan financial analysis and research. He believes that research, communication and collaboration are key skills to successfully navigate the world of business networking in order develop the necessary business skills and connections needed in today’s complex business environment.

In his spare time Patrick has a keen interest in the environment and sustainability. He has a property in Busselton where he practices improved horticultural techniques, permaculture and bee husbandry methods. Patrick also teaches beekeeping to the growing number of those interested in these fascinating little creatures.

About the lesson

I have been teaching at university for 24 years and TAFE for 11 years. During this time, I have won numerous teaching awards. My student feedback has always been close to or at 100% satisfaction when student's complete evaluations of lecturers and the course. My style is using an informal hands approach along with full explanations and workings.

My lessons usually go for about 60 minutes unless more is needed or desired by students.
I have taught students from age 15 - 75 years of age of different genders and ethnicities from Certificate I level to Master's degree level.
I also use digital resources that I have developed over the years to support student learning further when needed.
I have numerous qualifications, but my undergrad degree is in mathematics.
