About Isimioluwa

I am a Mathematics and Actuarial Science student at the University of Manchester with a genuine passion for teaching and helping others succeed. Having achieved 11 Grade 9s in my GCSEs and A*A*AA at A Level, I understand both the challenge of mastering difficult concepts and the satisfaction that comes from finally understanding them.

I began privately tutoring in 2024 and have since helped students develop their technical skills, improve their confidence, and achieve their academic goals. I believe that every student has the ability to succeed in maths with the right guidance, support, and approach.

My own academic journey has strengthened my problem-solving skills and taught me the value of patience, clear explanations, and adapting my approach to different learners. I aim not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop the confidence and independence to tackle unfamiliar problems.

Outside of academics, I have gained extensive experience mentoring and supporting others through roles such as an academic mentor and university PASS leader. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, which is why I design each lesson around their individual strengths, challenges, and goals. Whether a student is looking to build confidence, improve their grades, prepare for exams, or challenge themselves with more advanced problems, lessons are tailored to help them make consistent progress.

My online lessons are delivered through Google Classroom and typically last one hour, although this can be adjusted depending on the student's needs. I primarily teach GCSE (Mathematics, English, Sciences) and A-Level (Mathematics, Psychology), supporting students with understanding challenging topics, consolidating classwork, developing exam technique, and preparing effectively for assessments.

Lessons are structured around clear explanations, guided practice, and opportunities for students to apply their knowledge independently. I use carefully selected resources, targeted exam questions, and personalised homework or extension tasks to reinforce learning and track progress over time.

My aim is to make every subject feel more approachable and enjoyable while helping students develop the skills, confidence, and problem-solving ability needed to achieve their full potential.
