About Meghna
Hello! I'm a third year Mathematician at the University of Oxford. I love maths because it's an amazing subject requiring both abstract and logical thinking. I'm interested in tutoring because I've spent some time as a teaching assistant as part of my course and loved the opportunity to work with students to increase their mathematical potential. While maths can sometimes feel difficult and intimidating, I believe everyone is capable of achieving higher grades and, more importantly, deeper understanding.

The structure of each lesson will, of course, be dependent on the individual student and their specific learning needs. I believe to begin with it is crucial to identify their ability level in the different topics. From there it would be beneficial to cover the basic concepts relevant to each of the topics that they are struggling with, supported by various practice questions to establish understanding in practice and encourage confidence. At this point further similar practice questions as well as slightly different practice questions could be completed individually for me to assess whether progress has been achieved and to what extent. This is also a great opportunity for the student to ask further questions in areas they are perhaps still unsure of, something that can be difficult for students to begin with but something I will highly encourage throughout the sessions because I believe questioning is a great opportunity to develop critical thinking as well as self awareness.
