About Aquilla
Hello, my name is Aquilla Maartens and I am a student with the University of Pretoria, currently studying Sport Science.
I am extremely passionate about teaching and have always had a desire to teach, since a young age. I have various experience not only as a private tutor, but also as a swimming instructor. I have worked with children from the ages of 2 years until 18 years. I have enjoyed every teaching experience that I have had the privilege to be a part of. I am eager to help my students work towards their goals and find the joy in learning. Engaging in friendly, practical conversations will help to build a comfortable working environment and encourage development. I am excited to meet all my students and hopefully make a lasting impression.

I believe in building a comfortable environment with students. Encouraging them to try their best and to always work towards their goals. By building a safe working space, students feel comfortable to try even if they don’t get something right the first time. I feel that especially when it comes to languages, the practical approach is always the best. Easy conversation is always to be expected, along with practical real-life activities. I have experience working with intermediate level students and help to work towards a higher level of understanding. Ages range from 7 until 14 years old. Exam and assessment preparation is always available.
