About Cristina
I’m originally from Italy, where I earned my PhD in Physiology/Neurophysiology, and I’ve spent much of my career teaching and conducting research in the United States—most recently as an Assistant Professor of Biology, and previously in university research and teaching roles focused on neuroscience.
Science has always been something I genuinely enjoy, and teaching gives me the opportunity to share that enthusiasm with my students. One of my favorite parts of teaching is seeing the moment when a difficult concept finally clicks.
I’m particularly fascinated by the brain, nervous system, and human physiology, but I enjoy explaining science at every level—from students encountering physiology for the first time to graduate and pre-health students working through more advanced material.
I’m patient and approachable, and I ask questions to understand exactly where a student is getting stuck. I don’t want you to simply memorize my explanation—I want the concept to make sense to you, so you can remember it and apply it independently.

Hi! I have a PhD in Physiology/Neurophysiology and years of experience teaching at the university level, most recently as an Assistant Professor of Biology.
I specialize in making difficult concepts easier to understand. Instead of simply memorizing facts, I’ll help you understand why something happens using clear explanations, diagrams, clinical examples, and everyday-life connections. Once a concept really makes sense, it becomes much easier to remember and apply on an exam.
I can help with Human Anatomy & Physiology, Physiology, Neurobiology/Neuroscience, Pathophysiology, and related pre-health coursework. I work with undergraduate and graduate students, including pre-med, nursing, PA, PT, and other health-science students.
We can follow your specific course and textbook, work through difficult topics or problem sets, prepare for exams and lab practicals, or focus on the areas where you need the most help.
Lessons are online and one-on-one, and I tailor each session to your level, course, and goals.
