About Kangona
I am a Computer Science student at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, with a strong interest in mathematics, programming, logical problem-solving, and the environment.
Throughout school and university, I have always enjoyed tackling challenging problems and finding creative solutions. This passion has led me to opportunities ranging from leading a team that won 1st Place in the Engineers Without Borders Australia Design Corner 2026 Regional Water Challenge to being recognised as a finalist in the global IMC Prosperity Trading Challenge 2026. I have also contributed to publications exploring science, technology, and environmental sustainability.
My academic journey has been recognised through awards, including The Kalyan Bharti Trust Award for All-Round Excellence (Telegraph School Award). However, what matters most to me is not the awards themselves, but the lessons they taught me about persistence, curiosity, and continuous learning.
I decided to start tutoring because I genuinely enjoy helping others understand concepts that once seemed confusing. I know from personal experience that the right explanation can completely change the way a student feels about a subject. Seeing that moment when a difficult idea finally makes sense is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and become more independent learners. Whether a student needs support with mathematics, coding, or logical reasoning, I aim to create lessons that are patient, engaging, and tailored to their individual needs.
I believe that every student is capable of success when given the right guidance, encouragement, and opportunity to learn at their own pace.

My lessons are designed to make complex ideas simple, structured, and easy to apply.
I begin by understanding the student’s current level and identifying key gaps. From there, I explain concepts step-by-step using clear examples and guide students through practice questions to build confidence and accuracy.
My teaching style is interactive, focusing on active problem-solving rather than memorisation. I encourage students to think through questions independently so they can develop strong logical and analytical skills.
Each session typically includes concept explanation, guided practice, and exam-style questions where relevant. Lessons are paced according to the student’s needs, ensuring they fully understand each topic before moving forward.
I specialise in mathematics, programming (Java/Python/C/JavaScript/logic), algorithms, and introductory environmental science, geographic information systems (GIS), and remote sensing for primary and middle school students.
I aim to help students build strong foundations, improve performance, and become independent learners over time.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I have known Kangona ever since i've been in UNSW. She is a very kind and friendly person. She gets along well with a lot of people.
I have known Kangona for 9 months now, we met at an engineering-related event held at UNSW and have been friends ever since. She is a social, patient, and ever-curious person who is always willing to know more about the world around her. They frequently partake in events such as hackathons, volunteering, and external writing events. Kangona is an active participant in her studies from what I've seen in the courses we've taken together. She is an amazing candidate to become a tutor.
I met Kangona during orientation week of university and we have been good friends since then, even have done a hackathon together. I would say she’s a very understanding and patient person, and has great dedication on what she goes for. She’s very skilled at Maths and I think she’d make a great tutor!
