About Haile
I am a Chemical Engineer and currently a PhD student in Mining and Energy Resources at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). My academic background has given me a strong foundation in mathematics, problem-solving and analytical thinking.
I enjoy working with students and helping them understand concepts that may initially seem difficult or confusing. I am a patient and approachable person, and I believe that learning is most effective when students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
Outside of tutoring, I use mathematics and problem-solving regularly in my engineering research, which has helped me develop a practical understanding of how mathematical concepts are applied beyond the classroom.

My approach to tutoring is centred around making mathematics simple, practical, and easy to understand. I believe that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand where they are struggling and adapt my teaching style to suit their needs.
My lessons focus on building a strong understanding of the fundamentals before moving on to more challenging problems. I can help students with topics they find difficult, strengthen their problem-solving skills, practise questions, and build confidence in mathematics.
I particularly enjoy breaking complicated problems into smaller, manageable steps and explaining not only how to solve a problem, but why the method works.
My aim is to make mathematics feel less intimidating and more logical, practical and enjoyable.
