About Emily

I am a student in maths, biology and art. I have worked with all ages and am currently mentoring lower sixth form in maths. I am also working towards a Duke of Edinburgh award and a mentoring certificate. Over the time of my education I have been teaching in various subjects for about 7 years to a range of ages generally younger years . Because a lot of the people I taught haven’t gone through formal exams is hard to give statistics of their grades however I can reassure you that not only have my students increase their grades significantly their passion and positivity towards the subject have also dramatically increased which I am incredibly proud of them for.

About the lesson

Hi I’m Emily, my teaching method tends to adapt to the student to provide the best results . However I do like to have a hands on approach where I will bring in question from various sources which we will go through. I also like to take your opinion on what you feel you need to work on and look at that otherwise I will use past papers to find what we need to work on. I also do small tests on subjects you previously struggled with and then go through them. when going through why the answer is wrong I like to explain how it works, why it’s wrong and why the right answer does work as I believe this both helps them to remember and prevents frustration towards the subject.
