About Maisiehar

My goal as a vocal coach is to help you sing with both precision and passion. Over the past 6 years, I’ve worked with students to not only refine their technical ability, but to build a personal relationship with their voice. Whether you’re prepping for an audition, tackling challenging repertoire, or just starting out, I offer structured lessons that are personalized, engaging, and grounded in both classical and contemporary technique. Every voice is different, and my teaching reflects that. We begin with a vocal assessment to determine range, strengths, and growth areas. From there, we create a lesson plan focused on breath work, pitch training, vowel shaping, and dynamic control. But it’s not just about singing well—it’s about singing with meaning. That’s why my lessons also include musical interpretation, storytelling, stage presence coaching, and emotional delivery practice. We’ll often explore songs in a variety of genres, and I encourage students to bring in pieces they love, as well as songs that push them out of their comfort zone. I use pitch tracking tools, guided vocal warm-up tracks, and recording feedback to help students stay aware of their progress. I also emphasize vocal care—especially for students involved in frequent rehearsals or performances. You’ll learn how to warm up efficiently, avoid vocal strain, and maintain vocal health during high-stress periods. My teaching studio is a positive, affirming space where growth is measured not only by how high or loud you can sing, but by how free you feel when you do it. I’m here to help you develop a voice that feels strong, expressive, and 100% your own.

About the lesson

Singing is a powerful form of communication that combines the mechanics of voice production with emotional nuance and cultural storytelling to create meaningful musical expression. My approach to teaching is built around the concepts of Foundation, Imagination, Diversity, and Progress.

Foundation involves establishing a strong technical base, including breath management, diaphragmatic support, vocal fold coordination, resonance tuning, and pitch accuracy. This technical groundwork ensures students develop a healthy and sustainable vocal technique capable of supporting diverse styles. Imagination is fostered by encouraging students to engage creatively with their music—experimenting with phrasing, dynamics, and emotional interpretation through improvisation, storytelling, and role-play exercises. This creative exploration allows singers to develop their artistic identity and connect deeply with their repertoire.

Diversity is essential in my teaching philosophy; I incorporate a wide range of musical genres and cultural traditions, helping students build a broad, inclusive musical vocabulary and fostering respect for global musical heritages. Progress is nurtured through individualized goals, structured practice plans, and constructive feedback designed to motivate sustained improvement. I create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where technique, creativity, and cultural awareness intertwine, empowering students to cultivate expressive, authentic, and confident voices.
