About Omer

Over my years of tutoring I have continued to develop my skills as a tutor as I worked with many different kinds of learners. I specialize in working with high school to adult level learners and in working with these students it's very important to have an efficient methodology. I have learned to rapidly pinpoint the issues learners are having, provide a succinct solution to solve the problem, and to always be prepared with multiple methods of presenting the same material (catered to different types of learners: auditory, visual etc). Over time I have also mastered the skill of making concepts and facts more easily comprehensible and guiding students to making crucial connections between concepts (this is especially true for biochemistry which is a hub for physiology, nutrition, genetics and chemistry). As a tutor, I have seen the importance of connecting with the learners and meeting them at their level of understanding or confusion and building up from that point. I love teaching because I want to see my students excel in those same subjects that I loved learning and teaching when I was a student myself. Seeing my students excel and pass their exams gives me the highest level of satisfaction that is unparalleled to anything else.

About the lesson

I basically give a detailed review of all medical systems (cardiovascular, endocrinology, Gastro, Heme/Oncology, MSK/dermatology etc etc) explaining the "what, where, why and how" type of questions, as well as differentiating the different diseases, syndromes, processes and phenomena that sound similar in clinical presentation as we go from page to page during our systemic review. This takes a time of 10-12 weeks unless a student wants help in just a few particular systems. The only exceptions that I expect my students to cover on their own are Biostatistics and the Punnett squares scenarios while I cover the rest of the entire course with them. As I'm working on improving the concepts with my students regarding each topic/disease/drug/microbe/syndrome/process, I expect them to be working on Uworld questions simultaneously. In this way, once I'm done with covering all of the material and the related concepts, they are also done with the questions from Uworld. I also tutor subjects of Pathology, pharmacology individually to medical, nursing, PA and MA students and have been tutoring privately as well as an online tutor having my tutorees at different levels (high school, college and universities).
