About Joshua

I've tutored and assisted countless friends, peers and other students across many subjects including maths, science and English. I passed my English end of year exams with near perfect results, thanks to the help of several teachers, whose tips, tricks and strategies to tackling the task of exams I have saved, and am willing to share.
I was the Head Boy of my high school, a position in which I discovered my love for the process of writing, speaking and lending a hand. As a a recognisable face in my school community, I took it upon myself to assist any student who required the help, to achieve the best results they could. From this I learnt incredible skills and plans that are pivotal in a successful tutoring sessions. As the nature of the job also required countless speeches, documents and plans to be written, I picked up many tools and literary devices to make pieces more compelling, persuasive and interesting.

About the lesson

I enjoy any opportunity to instill a love for the English language in any student; especially those who aspire to achieve the best possible results in their learning. As a previous English student myself, I understand the stresses of the course's extensive criteria, and the added pressure of the course's mandatory passing in order to be considered for mainland universities. It is for these reasons that I have empathy for any student undertaking the huge committment that is TCE English, and wish to assist any student who needs it. No matter where you are at in English, or what your plans are post year 12, my goal is to equip you with vital skills, necessary and applicable in the real world outside of the classroom, and essential in acing your end ofyear exams.
My tutoring sessions will have a strong focus on:
- Exam preparaton
- Essay writing skills and techniques to achieve A level standards across multiple criteria
- An understanding of the students English capabilties, and goals with which TCE English will help.
- Vocabulary improvement and extension
- General explaination for any concepts, ideas or course related topics the student or parent/s are unsure about.

I understand that it is imperitave to be prepared for English testing at the end of the year, and I garuntee that with my help, any student will feel more confident, comfortable and creative going into their end of year exams.
