About Carly
I am a singing tutor with over 6 years of teaching experience and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Studies. My passion lies in guiding students to discover their own unique voice while also preparing them for the world of modern music. I combine classical vocal training with the tools and techniques needed for today’s recording industry. In my lessons, I use DAWs, vocal processors, and studio microphones to create a professional environment where students learn not only how to sing but also how to record effectively. This hands-on approach helps learners feel comfortable in a studio setting and equips them with songwriting and performance skills. I specialise in genres like R&B, Soul, Acoustic Pop, and Contemporary Christian, tailoring each lesson to the student’s musical goals. We explore lyric interpretation, tone shaping, harmonies, and phrasing to bring songs to life with emotion and clarity. I also emphasise the importance of vocal health and technique to ensure sustainable growth. My students include both hobbyists seeking joy in singing and aspiring recording artists preparing for serious careers. I create a space where creativity meets discipline, allowing each voice to shine. Together, we’ll explore the art of storytelling through singing and the limitless possibilities of studio creativity.

My singing methodology is designed to help vocalists master multiple genres with confidence and adaptability. For The Church Ensemble Player, the focus lies in blending seamlessly within group harmonies, shaping tone for sacred settings, and maintaining balance between individuality and unity. For The Crossover Artist, the emphasis shifts to versatility—shaping the voice to move easily between classical purity, pop clarity, and jazz expressiveness. Both paths begin with strong fundamentals: breath support, pitch control, and vocal health. Technique is then adapted to the style, ensuring every genre feels authentic without straining the voice. Classical requires resonance and precision, pop demands clarity and power, and jazz invites improvisation and emotional nuance. Modern tools enhance this journey. Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) are used for recording and self-evaluation, metronomes for rhythmic accuracy, and pitch training apps for refining intonation. These tools allow singers to track progress and hear their growth in real time. I encourage experimentation, because true artistry comes from exploring beyond one’s comfort zone. Whether preparing for ensemble performance or stepping into multiple genres, my approach supports growth, creativity, and confidence. The goal is not only to sing beautifully, but also to sing with purpose, adaptability, and joy.
