About Holly
I am a first-grade teacher with a strong passion for early literacy and the Science of Reading. I specialize in phonics, phonemic awareness, and foundational reading skills, using research-based, explicit instruction to support developing and struggling readers. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree focused on language and literacy, which strengthens my ability to use data-driven strategies and evidence-based practices to help young learners build confident, lasting reading skills.

I would be a strong phonics and reading tutor because I bring both deep knowledge and real classroom experience to my instruction. As a first-grade teacher, I use research-based Science of Reading practices every day, including explicit phonics, phonemic awareness, orthographic mapping, and data-driven instruction aligned with Ehri’s phases of word reading. I know how to break skills down, meet students exactly where they are, and build confidence through structured, engaging lessons—helping struggling readers make meaningful, lasting progress.
