About Edward
Are you an undergraduate student looking for private tutoring in a social science subject, academic skills or research methods? Are you a leaving cert student in Politics and Society, looking to excel and prepare for university, or even just try out a new subject before making up your mind? Do you have a passion and interest in the social world, and see yourself at the forefront of tackling some of the most crucial and pressing social, ecological and political issues of our time? My name is Edward Purcell, I am an honors graduate of the Bachelors of Applied Social Science in the University of Galway. I am currently undertaking a Research Masters in Social Science at the University of Amsterdam, where I also work as a Student Teaching Assistant for the Human Geography undergraduate program. I received a University Scholarship for exceptional performance for 2 years of my study at University of Galway, and my undergraduate dissertation was nominated for the Royal Geographical Society's Undergraduate Dissertation Prize. I have professional experience working on research projects with the universities of Galway, Amsterdam, and with NGOs and consultancies; I know what applied social science knowledge looks like, and how academic study skills can be transferred into professional workplace skills.
